Brendan: Happy New Year. You're right, it's quite a show - though, in admiring Mme Tereshkina's sheer technical brilliance, I was a bit put off by her lack of audience contact, though that may be in character for a Shade!
My treat was immediately before Christmas - a visit to Bern to see Cathy Marston's great, little company in her "Julia und Romeo", a highly intelligent re-working of the story from the perspective of a dying Juliet. Dramatic, passionate, and very satisfying - with a completely re-thought role for a non-clerical Friar Lawrence. Last performance on Thursday.
